To potential expectant parents who are considering adoption:
Dear Expectant Parent,
We are the Murray family, Nate, Claire, Liam, and our puppy, Winston! We are so grateful for the gift of introducing our family to you today. We hope that even through this letter, we can share the depths of our hearts for adoption, the love we already hold for this child and how honored we are that God has called our family to raise another child through the story of adoption.
We celebrate you as your child’s first parent and honor the most brave and loving decision that you are considering in placing your child for adoption. We can only imagine all that you may be feeling at this time and we are praying for you, that God would guide your path, cover you in His love and remind you that He holds the best plans for your life and your child. If you choose to place for adoption, we are confident that God has a loving family for your child’s future, and if that happens to be ours, we truly can’t wait to meet you! We support open adoption with our whole hearts and long for the possibility of having you, your loved ones, and your beautiful child, as part of our lives.
When we first started dating over ten years ago, the dream of adoption began in our hearts, and God has continued to grow this dream and reveal His perfect timing for this adoption story. After the birth of our son, Liam, four years ago, we knew that we longed for more children and God has revealed His perfect timing. We want you to know that while we have experienced secondary infertility and miscarriage, adoption is our first choice and the story we are praying for God to make a way for in our family.
Thank you for your courage as you consider placing your beloved child for adoption. We hope you know that if you choose our family, we promise to always celebrate and embrace you as your child’s first parent and will raise your child with an abundance of love and kindness as we partner with the Lord. We are praying for you and would love to meet you!
With Love,
Nate, Claire & Liam
Who we are as a family:
Nate grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin. As a child, his favorite hobbies were playing sports with his friends, fishing with family and going to the cabin. Today, Nate continues to love sports, enjoys fly fishing and delights in watching Liam fall in love with the cabin, just like when he was a child. Nate is a loving and patient father, loves to play with, build forts and make Liam laugh. He is a strong leader and faithfully serves his family. Nate is a physical therapist by trade, but now works in a sales role selling human performance technologies. His goal in life is to share and spread the light and love of Jesus to all people.
Claire grew up in Apple Valley, Minnesota. As a child, her favorite hobbies were playing outside with friends, baking and doing crafts with her sister, and going on walks with her family. Today, Claire delights in the joy of being a stay-at-home mama and homemaker, continues to love time in nature and enjoys baking sourdough bread. She is a compassionate and intentional mama, and loves homeschooling, baking and gardening with Liam. Claire was a kindergarten teacher before becoming a mama, with her degree in early childhood education. Her goal in life is to invite others to know the love of Jesus, and loves to host and create spaces to gather in her home.
Liam is a four-year-old who loves spending time with his family and friends, playing outside and exploring in nature, and snuggling up with cozy blankets to read his favorite books. He is a kind, joyful and tender-hearted boy. He delights in simplicity, loves to learn and is filled with big, happy energy as he celebrates the little things with laughter and delight. Liam is a wonderful friend and is eagerly waiting to become a big brother. We have seen God preparing his heart as he continually prays for a sibling to join our family through adoption.
Winston is our seven-year-old cockapoo. He is sweet, gentle and loves to snuggle. He is incredible with children, happily plays with Liam and loves to be wherever we are.
Our views on openness in adoption:
We support open adoption with our whole hearts and pray that God would make a way for a beautiful and flourishing relationship with our child’s first family. Our hope is that this child would be loved for life by their birth and adoptive families, and that they would know, love and continue to build a relationship with their first family for all the years to come. We honor every birth parent who makes the brave decision to place their child for adoption, as there is no greater act of love. We promise to continue with a spirit of openness as your child grows. If you choose to place with our family, we would be so honored to have you, your loved ones, and your beautiful child, as part of our lives.
