To potential expectant parents who are considering adoption:

Dear Expectant Parents,

Thank you for taking a moment to get to know us. We’re Cole and Danielle, and we’re grateful you’re reading this during what we imagine may be a very emotional and complicated time.

As you look through our pictures and learn a little about our lives, we hope you can get a true sense of who we are – what we value, the love in our family, and the kind of home we have created. If you would like to meet with us, we would be honored to connect.

We’ve been thinking of you – and praying for you – for a long time. We hope you feel supported, guided, and surrounded by people who care for you and your child.

No matter the decision you make, we deeply respect the love and thought you are putting into this moment. We wish you and your child peace, strength, and the very best as you find the best path forward.

With love and care,
Cole and Danielle

Who we are as a family:

Our story as a family has been building for some time. We have known each other since we were 14, when we worked at a summer camp together. Seeing our relationship go from friends to dating to marriage has been fun. We married in 2018. Some of our family values are forgiveness, love, and support through everything in life. We love spending time together on outdoor adventures or enjoying a good movie night at home.

We have lived in our home since 2019. Our family includes a loving rescue dog named Ellie. She loves her life of relaxing in our house. We enjoy walks to the park with Ellie and summer walks to the nearby ice cream shop. We have very similar personalities, which makes us a good team, but our differences help push each other out of our comfort zones. We enjoy family meals in the winter. Danielle loves to cook and is constantly whipping up something tasty. We do game nights with a few groups of friends, either online or in person. These game nights have become more consistent. It is fun to take on the auntie and uncle roles for our friends’ kids. Recently, we had the opportunity to travel to Alaska. This sparked an interest in traveling more. We are excited to plan future trips.

Danielle works in a leadership role within the administrative side of healthcare. In 2024, she completed her bachelor’s degree and is taking a few classes to finish her master’s degree over time. It has been a fulfilling endeavor to finish school. She is only taking one class per semester, which gives her much more free time. In her free time, she loves to go out for walks in the nearby prairie, enjoy other forms of exercise, cook meals for the family, and take art classes. She also enjoys days out with friends, whether to concerts or shopping. Cole is currently working in construction as a welder. He enjoys reading a good book, which is usually a fantasy novel. He also enjoys game nights with friends, where he can get lost in the game’s creativity. Each week, he enjoys teaching the kids in our local scout troop new skills and taking time to give them challenges. On the weekend, he loves taking time to help our neighbors with tasks such as clearing the snow and mowing the lawn.

Our views on openness in adoption:

We are committed to teaching our kids their story. We know there will be challenges, but we are dedicated to teaching our child about their background. We hope to have a strong relationship with our child’s birth parents.

We are open to meeting in person before the birth, hospital visits if you desire, exchanging pictures, emails, phone calls, and video calls, and in-person visits. We want everyone to be comfortable with the level of openness. We would be happy to discuss what you feel comfortable with and what would be best for everyone.
