To potential expectant parents who are considering adoption:
Hi! We are Krista and Jason. We want to thank you for taking the time to review our profile and for allowing us to share a small piece of our life with you. We hope you can see who we are, our authenticity, and how excited we are to grow our family again through adoption!
We grew our family through adoption in 2023 when our daughter Layla joined our family! Watching her grow into the joyful and curious person God has created her to be has deepened our desire to grow our family again through adoption. We are so excited to see her become a big sister and know that she will welcome a little one with open arms and will want to teach them everything she has learned! We can’t wait to watch another little one grow into the incredible and unique person God has designed them to be in this world!
We know this is a big decision and considering adoption can bring up so many feelings. Our prayer for you is that you would feel peace throughout this process and with any decisions you make. Even though we have never met, know that we are praying for you, and want what is best for you and your child!
Who we are as a family:
We met in 2010, volunteering together with our church youth ministry. Our relationship grew and we began dating in 2012, engaged in 2013, and married in February 2014. Shortly after we got married we rescued our lab mix Lily, and then in 2019 we added our golden retriever Marshall into our home. In 2023 we grew our family through adoption as our daughter Layla joined us, bringing her pure joy and sunshine into our lives each and every day!
Krista stays home full time with Layla. They love spending time outdoors, going to the library, baking, gardening, and reading books! Krista also works one evening a week leading process groups for couples who are struggling with infertility. She finds joy in helping others walk through a hard season and to help them discover hope again! Jason works as a strategy analyst for a healthcare company. He has also worked as a worship pastor for his home church since 2016. Jason loves spending time with his dogs, running, and playing golf.
We love spending time with both of our families, who live in the cities. Both of our families also have summer cabins and we enjoy spending parts of our summers with them relaxing by the lake, playing croquet, or enjoying a good sunset! We also have a close group of friends that we love spending time with as well.
Our views on openness in adoption:
Openness is really important to us! We know how important it is for our kids to stay connected to their birth families – to understand who they are, where they came from, and to feel confident in who they are becoming! To us, openness means honoring the relationships our kids have with their birth families and creating opportunities for regular connection and shared experiences! We understand that openness can look different for every family, and we’re committed to working together to find a plan that feels respectful and supportive for everyone.
