To potential expectant parents who are considering adoption:

Hello! We are humbled and full of gratitude that you are taking the time to get to know a little about us. Our hope is that we’re able to share the love we have for one another, our love of God, and the love we’d have for our future child(ren). It has been on our hearts for many years to become parents.

We want you to be comforted in knowing how much we respect you and your decisions. From the deepest part of our hearts and spirit, thank you for sharing your time with us.

We believe that God gave us the ability to focus on gratitude during challenging times. It is by the grace of the Lord Jesus that we are able to walk through our lives in a manner that reflects his goodness. During our years of waiting and grief, we receive hope and do not grow weary because we are praying for you. We know that God has a plan to bring us together. Thank you for trusting in his will and for all the wonderful blessings that are to come, which we hope to experience together.

Who we are as a family:

We have been married for 10+ years and have been a couple for more than 15. We were both born and raised in Minnesota and met each other at our former workplace. Jim is currently a self-employed small business owner and Brittney works in human services. We both have family and friends, many of whom have small children, in the greater metropolitan area.

We are currently blessed to have the opportunity to mentor a young boy, whom we meet with at least once per week. Our hobbies include board games, geocaching, hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities. We love to travel and explore fun, new locations.

We regularly attend a church close to our home. It is a space where people can experience a relationship with Jesus while living real life together. We believe that the church extends beyond the walls. That is why we meet with a lifegroup every other week to learn together and share fellowship. It is also important to us to serve other people through outreach and volunteerism.

Our views on openness in adoption:

Our hope is that we can honor and respect one another for the best interest of the child through an open relationship. We understand how knowing the child’s well-being may be important for you and we want to value that. For us, openness will allow for an authentic relationship in which we will be able to more easily understand family history.

We believe that there are many benefits for the child when openness is a way of their life. The child will have a better sense of identity and their questions will be answered in a supportive way.

Having a circle of supportive adults who love and care for the child is beautiful to think about. We would love the opportunity to talk together to find the best balance of openness that will fit our families.
