To potential expectant parents who are considering adoption:

Hi there!

We are so thankful for you taking some time to get to know us – we are Matt and Anna. We are excited to grow our family through adoption, and we are honored to share a bit about ourselves with you.

We see children as a blessing, and they have always been part of our hopes and desires for our family. For us, adoption is the answer to those desires. We love children and both look forward to being parents someday. Our love for our future kids has already started to grow through the adoption process, and we can’t wait to meet them, love them, and see them grow someday.

Anna is a loving, funny, and caring woman, and has had motherhood on her heart since she was a little kid. She is overflowing with love for little ones and can’t wait to cuddle ours.

Matt is steadfast, creative, and kind, and can’t wait to raise children into disciples of Christ and members of society. He holds adoption in high esteem, as we, too are adopted as children of God.

If our paths cross in this journey, we are so excited to love you, too. We are praying for you and your child and would be honored if we can help raise them.

With Love,
Matt and Anna

Who we are as a family:

Anna: I am a people person! Caring for and loving others comes naturally to me. I love hanging out with friends and our family. I’m all about making new friendships and meeting new people.

After graduating from college with a journalism degree, I started my career in the publishing industry and quickly realized my favorite parts of the job were when I had a camera in my hands. Now, I have my own, successful, full-time photography business, helping families tell their stories from the moment they begin and as they grow. I love photographing children and particularly babies! My job has very flexible hours, so I’ll be home with our children rather than having to find childcare. I’ve gotten the chance to work with different cultures and learn new traditions through my wonderful clients!

In my free time, I love baking new things. Someday, I hope to enter my chocolate chip cookies in the MN State Fair!

I love making things and have recently started sewing again! I can’t wait to share all of these hobbies with our future children.

Matt: “Why?” has always been my favorite question. I love exploring how the world works and finding the beauty in it. I graduated from college with a geography degree and a minor in art. After college, I spent time living and working in Yosemite National Park where I served with a ministry to put on Sunday worship services for employees and visitors. I got to photograph some of the most beautiful landscape in the country and live simply. I’ve done a little bit of everything since then, from cooking to mortgage banking to wedding photography. Now I am working full-time as an appraiser for our local city, utilizing my analytical brain and my love of geography, real estate, and community. My job allows me to see all sorts of homes in the city, meet the diverse people who live here, and pour into the community by working in public service.

In my spare time, I like woodworking, trying new recipes and photographing landscapes. My newest hobby is gardening. We built a large vegetable garden where I can grow fresh produce for dinners every night in the summer.

Our views on openness in adoption:

We are looking forward to having an open adoption, as we believe that this would be best for our kids and everyone in the adoption triad. We view openness as a conversation and recognize it as a relationship, as opposed to a decision or static belief. We would like to have a relationship with our child’s birth parents and their immediate families, and we view them as extended family already! What that relationship looks like may change and is part of a two-way conversation. We are open to at least weekly communication at first and are open to email, letters, texting, and phone calls. We’re pretty flexible depending upon the situation!
