New Life Adoptions will be hosting the annual Hope for the Journey Conference on Friday, April 8th, 2022. Filled with invaluable information, this one-day conference is not only for adoptive and foster parents, but for church leaders, professionals, teachers, caregivers, and others who work with children in any capacity.
Show Hope
Over the years, many Christians have heard Mary Beth and Steven Curtis Chapman share about their passion for adoption. They funneled this passion into founding a faith-based nonprofit called Show Hope in 2003. Since then, they have offered a variety of adoption and foster care related trainings, resources, and support. Show Hope offers the Hope for the Journey Conference each year as part of this beneficial support. Their work has impacted thousands of children in the nearly 20 years it has been around. To learn more about Show Hope, go to their website.
Empowered To Connect
Prior to 2021, Show Hope offered a two-day conferenced called Empowered to Connect. Throughout those two days, speakers presented on the principles of Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®). This model walks caregivers through the steps of Connecting, Empowering, and Correcting using tools and real-world examples.
With the change from Empowered to Connect to Hope for the Journey, the two-day conference has been condensed into one day. This change helps accommodate busy parents’ schedules while still providing powerful information. Hope for the Journey also added sections on “Practical Applications” and “The Gospel and TBRI®.” These additions will help parents and caregivers take these concepts and turn them into hands-on and ready to use tools.
